As an Ed Brown Society Scholar, I was selected as an Intern at Gulfstream Park this upcoming Summer. I am very excited about this internship! It will expose me to the various aspects of the industry such as racing, gaming, hospitality, marketing and horse care, which I am most interested in. Furthermore, I am looking forward to the hands-on experience, knowledge, and skills I will gain.
Kentucky Horse Racing Commission Intern

During this internship, I shadowed staff on various committees. My responsibilities included recording meeting minutes, assisting with administrative tasks for the office secretary & licensing compliance. Furthermore, I gained an in-depth understanding of the roles of a Regulatory Veterinarian & State Stewards. I also assisted with various projects focused on Pari-mutuel wagering and compliance and communications.
